Honorary Members

Welcome to The Contact Project—an ambitious endeavor at the intersection of science, curiosity, and the unexplained. Our discussions are about UFOs. I am the founder, and my name is Erich Habich-Traut.

The Contact Project mission is simple yet profound. We aim to investigate Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) across every conceivable frequency.

Committed to pushing the boundaries of exploration, we seek to answer a question that has haunted humanity for millennia: Are we alone?

This project unites a diverse coalition of scientists, researchers, artists, experiencers, and forward-thinking innovators. Each brings unique expertise and hypotheses. They share a determination to illuminate the mysteries of UAPs. While perspectives within our honorary membership may differ, all are united by a common thread. This is the pursuit of truth about humanity’s place in the cosmos.

From Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, who posits that the interstellar object ‘Oumuamua’ could be an extraterrestrial artifact, to anthropologist Michael Paul Masters, who theorizes that UAP occupants may be time-traveling descendants of humanity, our collaborators challenge conventional paradigms. Meanwhile, Dan Harary is an accomplished Hollywood publicist, author, UFO experiencer, podcast host, and media relations director, based in Beverly Hills.

John Scott Shepherd, a pioneer in radio signal experimentation, has spent decades broadcasting messages into space. Nancy Thames is a lifelong contactee writing about her experiences and a member of the Hollywood Disclosure Alliance. Furthermore, Calvin Parker’s harrowing 1973 Pascagoula abduction experience reminds us of the deeply personal stakes of this phenomenon. Preston Dennett is a prominent American UFO researcher and author, celebrated for his in-depth exploration of extraterrestrial phenomena. Since his personal UFO sighting in California in 1986, Dennett has published over 30 books and 100 articles, becoming a leading voice in the field.

We also engage skeptics and truth-seekers like filmmaker Spyros Melaris, renowned for dissecting the infamous “alien autopsy” hoax. Alongside him are visionary engineers like Wolfgang Rainer Fuchs, whose innovations in sustainable technology mirror our ethos. Our ethos blends science with hope. Meanwhile, activists like Ed Komarek and biotech expert Jeanette Brix underscore the interdisciplinary nature of this quest. They bridge decades of UFO research with cutting-edge practical applications.

The Contact Project is more than an experiment—it is a platform for dialogue, discovery, and daring to ask what if. Whether you approach UAPs as a scientist, a skeptic, or simply someone captivated by the unknown, we invite you to explore the work of our collaborators. Ponder the possibilities and join us in reimagining humanity’s cosmic narrative.

The journey begins here.

Statement of the Contact Project regarding METI

The honorary members of the Contact Initiative have consented to be featured on this page in recognition of their efforts to comprehend our position in the universe. Although we may not always agree on every aspect, we share a common goal.

Abraham “Avi” Loeb,
astrophysicist, is the Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University and Director of the Institute for Theory and Computation (2007-present) within the Harvard-Smithsonian Center. He is the head of the Galileo Project (2021-present). His hypothesis is that Oumuamua may have been an extraterrestrial probe.

Dan Harary,
is a four-time UFO Experiencer and member of MUFON; the Chairman and Creator of the Hollywood Disclosure Alliance; host of a weekly podcast entitled FROM HOLLYWOOD…IT’S PARANORMAL TONIGHT!; the Founder/Editorial Director of the newly launched WOW! Signal News Service — a unique publicity distribution service for those researchers who are working across every avenue of the UAP/UFO/ET issue; and the Director of Media Relations for Contact in the Desert, the world’s largest annual UFO Conference.

Michael Paul Masters,
anthropologist, received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 2009, where he specialized in hominin evolutionary anatomy, archaeology, and biomedicine.
He investigated modern human variation in orbital and overall craniofacial anatomy. His hypothesis is that UAP occupants may be our time-traveling descendants.

John Scott Shepherd,
artist and electronics boffin, is the founder and research fellow of Project S.T.R.A.T., Michigan, for over 30 years. His “Special Telemetry Research And Tracking” project began in the spring of 1971.

He broadcast unfocused, powerful radio signals into space to attract the attention of ETIs near Earth. He hoped they’d follow the signal to the source.

Nancy Thames,
is a lifelong contactee. She has emerged as a leading voice in the field of alien disclosure and spiritual transformation. Her journey, which took a profound turn after a near-death experience (NDE) in an automobile accident, revealed a deeper purpose. During this NDE, Nancy experienced a soul transfer, a profound event that reinforced her mission on Earth.

Calvin Parker (1954-2023),
was nineteen years old on October 11th, 1973, when he and his forty-two-year-old friend Charles Hickson were fishing on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi.  A strange craft descended, and three humanoid creatures floated out of an opening. Both men were absolutely terrified when these creatures grabbed them and took them aboard the craft.

Calvin Parker described his experience in “Pascaguola: The Closest Encounter

Preston Dennett
is a UFO researcher and author. Beginning in 1986, after a personal UFO sighting in California, Dennett has authored over 30 books and interviewed hundreds of witnesses. He is a field investigator for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). Preston has appeared on numerous radio and television programs.

Spyros Melaris
is a director and movie producer. During the 1995 Cannes Film Festival, he met Ray Santilli, who wanted him to make a documentary about footage of an alien autopsy.

You can trust Spyros Melaris to spot a fake. It will be interesting to see what he brings to the project.

Melaris owns his own TV studio in London.

Ed Komarek
investigated UFO/ET phenomena for over 50 years and is an activist for UFO disclosure. His main interest now is concentrating on credible encounter cases. This is in order to try to grasp the overall context of the phenomenon. Two of his books, “Exopolitics UFOs and the New World Disorder” and “The Long Hard Road to Enlightenment,” involve UFO/ET subject matter.

Jeanette Brix
has spent the last 20 years working on biotech and pharmaceutical projects.

Her portfolio ranges from small rebuilding projects in existing facilities to large greenfield projects covering a large variety of biopharmaceutical & pharma products.

She’s a hardworking and inspiring manager. She quickly and professionally understands very complex tasks.

Wolfgang Rainer Fuchs,
is an Austrian engineer and inventor. He has conceived the emissionless “Flying Discus” electric aircraft.

His latest project is “Desert Water,” a method to extract water from the air in arid regions plagued by droughts and famine for drinking and farming.

“Desert Water” reached the next major milestone: the Tanzanian government provided a plot of land for the first water plant, with preparations for construction already underway!
Water is a human right.
